Bite of Japanese

Japanese cuisine is one of the most flavorful cuisines from the oriental food basket. From chirasti sushi (a combination of nine varieties of fish and vegetables), to tekkamaki(tuna roll), kappamaki(cucumber roll) or the urakamaki where the seaweed is rolled inside and the rice outside is laced with flying fish roe, you can relish the delights of japan in each bite.
Sushi is one of the better known dishes of Japanese cuisine as popular abroad as it is in Japan. Sushi is traditionally eaten in the last course of the meal. It is an arrangement of sweetened vinegared rice with a raw fish in different shapes for ex: Nigiri sushi, Vinegared rice dabbed with wasabi paste and topped with slivers of raw fish, Hosomaki thin rolled sushi wrapped in nori(Seaweed sheet) and filled with an assorted of in gradients.
Sake (Japanese rice wine) I traditionally served with sushi and sashimi. Cold sake is popular in summer or when served as an aperitif. Warm sake is popular in winter, but can also be enjoyed at any time of the year with a meal. Warming the sake reduce the alcohol content, but enhances the aroma and flavors.
